Boundless Space: The Possibilities of Burning Man

Exhibition at Sotheby’s in New York, featuring artists such as Richard Prince, Shepard Fairey, Jen Lewin, Valerie Asiimwe Amani, Iris Van Herpen and Taeko Nomiya and designed by the creative director of 'Hamilton', David Korins, to display some of the artworks donated for Boundless Space: The Possibilities of Burning Man, a charitable online auction that offered up for sale an eclectic, genre-defying selection of artworks, collectibles, mutant vehicles, NFTs, and experiences. Funds raised by Boundless Space supported participating artists, helped ensure the not-for-profit’s long-term survival, and funded their Arts and Civic Engagement programs.
 

The auction’s online catalogue was released in early September, 2021; the auction opened in late September 2021 for eight days of online bidding. In addition to the works available for viewing there were exciting virtual and in-person art activations taking place in early October, 2021.

Auction results: Sotheby's estimate for Taeko Nomiya's  カラオケ{karaoke} was 2,500 to - 3,500 USD, and the lot sold for 6,048  USD (101% above mid-estimate). The entire auction realized $ 2,009,976 USD.



Taeko Nomiya got involved in the auction and the exhibition through the generous efforts of Arturo Mizrahi and Maia Contemporary Gallery.
